We will provide the guide, boat, gear, tackle and bait. All you need to bring on the trip is your lunch, beverages, fishing license and possibly a rainsuit.
Our main base of operations is is the Lakeridge Tackle Store and Motel at Fort Peck Dam and we launch out of the Fort Peck Marina. It's a great place to begin your fishing day and offers the only paved access on the entire lake.

Fort Peck is known
for big walleyes.
Our fishing day typically starts at 7 a.m. and we typically fish until at least 3 p.m., but that may vary depending on time of the year, heat of the day and how the fish are biting. We'll meet at the Lakeridge and take off from there to begin our day of fishing.

Fishing tactics vary with the time of the year, the species of the fish we're after and water temperature which helps determine how active the fish might be and at what depth they might be holding.

Walleye fishing might be done by jigging, trolling bottom bouncers and spinners or even long-lining crankbaits. Most of our lake trout and chinook salmon fishing is done with downriggers to better get down really deep where those fishing are usually hiding.

We'll provide just about everything you need -- the guide, the boat, boat gas, motors, electronics, fishing tackle and bait. If you've got a favorite fishing rod, feel free to bring it along. All you need to bring on the trip is your lunch, beverages, fishing license, appropriate clothing and possibly a rainsuit. And, don't forget your camera.

Fishing licenses can be purchased locally at license agents or you can buy one over the Internet by going to Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks' Online Licensing. Don't forget to also purchase a $5 Warm Water Fishing Stamp in addition to your regular fishing license. Those are required to fish for, catch and keep warm-water species like walleyes, northern pike and smallmouth bass on Fort Peck.

When the fishing day is done, your fish will be cleaned and bagged at the fish cleaning station for you to take home.

We strongly believe in promoting fishing for youth and in adults bringing kids along with them. In fact, we offer a $25 discount if any of the up to three fishermen are under 16 years of age.
