About us

Outfitter Doug Komrosky
and some good chinook salmon.
So who are Doug and Carol Komrosky? This husband and wife are both native-born Montana folks. Carol was born and raised in the Livingston area while Doug was born and raised in Glasgow, a mere 17 miles from Fort Peck Reservoir.

When they are not fishing, Doug is a 6th grade elementary teacher in Harlem, MT and his wife Carol is a Special Education teacher in the Havre, MT school district. Their passion for education of young people is surpassed only by their love of fishing on Fort Peck

From 1997 thru 2004, Doug was employed during the summers as a guide for Myron and Mary Beth Kibler, a well-known and respected fishing and hunting outfitting couple headquartered out of Hell Creek Marina. From this experience, Doug gained a beneficial sense of the business and professional end of guiding fisherman.

Doug's many years of fishing on Ft Peck has given him valuable fishing know-how dealing with the high and low water levels that the reservoir has experienced over the last 30 years. Doug will tell you most people who monitor the rise and fall of the water levels on Fort Peck and adjust their locations and methods of fishing are usually the more successful anglers on Fort Peck. These changes in water level are not only influential from year to year, but often from day to day.

People often ask what WE fish for. To answer that question, a person needs to consider the time of year. From May through July, we like to focus on Walleye, Sauger, Saugeye, Smallmouth Bass and Northern Pike. The months of August and September are primarily the Salmon and Lake Trout months for us. There is a spring bite for Lake trout, but school is usually still in session during that time. We will, however, take bookings for anglers during the weekends of April and May for an early spring trip. We, too, get cabin fever!!

Doug has fished many years as a local Montana walleye tournament fisherman. He has taken second place once and third place twice in the Angler of the Year race in the Montana Walleye Circuit. He has also finished second twice in the Team of the Year competition in the same circuit. He has fished many Montana Governor's Cup Walleye Tournaments. He has also been named a member of the Montana Walleye Hall of Fame.

Doug also spent some time as a professional angler on the In-Fisherman Professional Walleye Trail. He initiated a program whereby he took a young person fishing on one of his pre-fishing days at every professional tournament he fished. This program was successful enough to be featured on In-Fisherman Television in 2001. This program emphasizes Doug and Carol's devotion to getting young people on the water, to carry the fishing torch when the rest of us are gone.
